2025 Street Projects
The Village of Marathon City is gearing up for a busy 2025 road work season, with several major street and infrastructure projects planned.
Work will begin in the spring with the reconstruction of Sonnentag Road, from Pine Street to the Village’s western boundary. Other key projects include the completion of North Business Parkway (connecting STH 107 to North 152nd Avenue), culvert replacement on Community Circle, and drain inlet repairs and asphalt resurfacing on Oak Street between 4th and 5th Streets.
These efforts will take place alongside the 4th Street sidewalk and tunnel construction under County Road NN, which will provide access to the new County Materials Sports Complex. The Sports Complex will also see continued development, including the addition of basketball and pickleball courts, a blacktop parking lot, and the completion of the concession stand and baseball fields.
Additionally, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation will be conducting a survey of STH 107 from 8th Street to the Big Rib River in preparation for a resurfacing project scheduled for 2026.
As construction gets underway, we encourage residents and visitors to remain alert in work zones, watch for detours and changing traffic patterns, allow extra travel time, and reduce travel through affected areas when possible. Please stay cautious around equipment and personnel. Above all, safety remains our top priority for everyone during this construction season.
