2024 Budget
The Village of Marathon City has created a 2024 Budget Overview Document intended to provide citizens background on the 2024 General Fund Budget and key considerations for used to assemble the budget.
The Village increased the total tax levy for the Village by 1.72% as allowed by state statute. Based on increased assessed value of the Village in 2023, the mill rate for Marathon City will decrease from 2022 at$7.426 per thousand of assessed value to 7.411 per thousand of assessed value.
As an example, a home with an assessed value of $100,000 will pay $741.10 dollars in Village Taxes for 2023 (100,000/1000 = 100, 100*7.411 = $741.10). This is $1.50 less than the 2022 bill for the same $100,000 home.
